Yeagi Kim Broadwell, DMA

Violin/Co-Director

Korean-born and Michigan-based violinist Yeagi Kim Broadwell is a versatile performer, educator, and music executive with an international career spanning Asia, Europe, and the United States. A graduate of the Novosibirsk Specialized Music School and holding a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Utah, along with degrees from the Rotterdam Conservatory and Brigham Young University, Dr. Broadwell co-founded Saginaw Bay SoundBridge with Katie Seigfried. She currently teaches at Saginaw Valley State University, performs with several Michigan orchestras, and co-conducts the Saginaw Bay Youth Orchestra.

Katie Seigfried

Violin/Co-Director/My Mind Games

Katie Seigfried is a violinist and educator from Mesa, Arizona, who holds degrees in Music Education and Violin Performance from Northern Arizona University, where she served as concertmistress. She has performed with the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra and other ensembles, and is Suzuki-trained (Books 1–10) with additional training in Music Mind Games. An active teacher in schools, studios, and festivals, she is also a member of the Paul Rolland String Pedagogy Society. Now based in Saginaw, Michigan, she co-founded Saginaw Bay SoundBridge with Yeagi Broadwell, performs with local orchestras, runs a private studio, and performs with her band, Sarah Regal Band throughout Michigan.

Chia-Ying Chan, DMA

Piano

Dr. Chia-Ying Chan is an award-winning pianist whose performances have been featured on radio stations across the United States, Canada, and Taiwan. Recent highlights include appearances with Sinfonia da Camera under Ian Hobson, a solo recital at the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, and her critically acclaimed debut album on Centaur Records. An active soloist and chamber musician, she appears frequently in recital and in four-hand collaborations with David Brickle, as well as in the Amosa Duo with Gary June. Dr. Chan serves on the faculty at Saginaw Valley State University and is widely recognized for her leadership, adjudication work, and international teaching engagements.

Annie Chapman Brewer

French Horn

Annie Chapman Brewer is an award-winning horn player, educator, and entrepreneur based in Midland, Michigan. She teaches privately and serves as adjunct horn instructor at Saginaw Valley State University. A frequent Midwest performer, she collaborates with orchestras and festivals across several states. Her composition River House on the Prairie won the Judith Lang Zaimont Prize (2023). Brewer is also a clinician, arranger, and advocate for arts-agriculture collaboration, serving as board president of AgArts. She holds a Master of Music from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and teaches at Saginaw Valley State University.

Catherine McMichael

Piano/Composition

Catherine McMichael is an award-winning pianist, composer, arranger, and educator based in Saginaw, Michigan. A graduate of the University of Michigan in piano performance and chamber music, she performs with the Saginaw Bay and Flint Symphony Orchestras and collaborates widely as an accompanist and director. Her compositions, published by five publishers, are performed worldwide by ensembles of all levels. She is active as a clinician and is available for commissions for any instrument or voice.

Mike Curtiss

Percussion

Mike began playing drums when he was five and has been in the music world ever since. Mr. Curtiss attended Central Michigan University where he received his bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Jazz, and Performance. At CMU, he was a member of the marching band, concert bands, jazz band, orchestra, and Percussion Ensemble. Besides working with numerous Michigan bands and percussion ensembles, Mr. Curtiss taught his own school bands for over 25 years (Saginaw High School, Merrill Schools, Arthur Hill High School, Swan Valley Schools, and Saginaw Arts and Science Academy). At Arthur Hill High School, Mr. Curtiss led their Drumline to First Place in Winter Guard International World Championships. He is Percussion Instructor for Saginaw Bay Youth Orchestra and performs with other area musical groups. 

Anna Tsukervanik, DMA

Violin

Anna Tsukervanik began studying violin at age four in Uzbekistan and made her solo debut at eight. By fourteen, she had won first prize at the Glazunov International Violin Competition in Paris, later earning Grand Prix at an international competition in Kazakhstan. Anna has performed across the U.S., Europe, and Asia, with appearances in Tokyo, Germany, and New York. She has served as concertmaster at Lynn University and the Stony Brook Symphony Orchestra. She earned her Doctor of Musical Arts in Violin Performance from Stony Brook University and continues to perform and teach throughout Michigan.

Nellie Osantowski

Violin

Nellie Osantowski is the orchestra director at White Pine Middle School and Heritage High School and has worked closely with students through Saginaw Strings. A registered Suzuki Method teacher and lifelong Mid-Michigan musician, she brings a deep passion for string education and student mentorship. In addition to classical training, she is an accomplished fiddler, performing in French Canadian, Irish, and bluegrass styles and sharing that rich musical tradition with students through performance and education. She co-conductors Saginaw Bay Youth Orchestra.

Jeremiah Kraniak

Music Theory

Jeremiah Kraniak is a conductor, tenor, flutist, and music educator from New Haven, Michigan. He holds a B.A. in Music Education from Saginaw Valley State University and a Master of Music in Conducting at Central Michigan University. He is the Assistant Principal at Saginaw Arts and Sciences Academy, and has taught voice, piano, music theory, and choir at the school. He serves as Music Director of the Saginaw Choral Society and Choral Assistant at St. John’s Episcopal Church, while maintaining an active career as a performer, conductor, and music educator throughout the Great Lakes region.
